University of Halabja Held the Graduation Ceremony for the Eighth and Ninth Rounds of Students

The University of Halabja marked a significant moment on November 14, 2023, as it proudly held the graduation ceremony for the eighth and ninth rounds of students for the academic years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. A total of 1364 students were honored with well-deserved certificates.

The event was graced by distinguished guests including Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Mr. Hama Hama Saeed, Minister of Culture and Youth. Joining them were presidents from various KRG universities, administrative and political figures, as well as the students and their families.

The ceremony unfolded with the university council members taking the stage, guiding the students into the hall to the tunes of the national anthems of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The atmosphere was set with the recitation of Quranic verses followed by a minute of silence in remembrance of Kurdistan’s martyrs.

Dr. Ako Ibrahim Faqe, dean of the college of Physical Education and Sport Sciences and head of the Graduation Ceremony Committee, delivered a speech, paving the way for the President of UoH, Prof. Dr. Mahabad Kamil Abdullah. Dr. Mahabad extended a warm welcome to the guests, congratulated the students and highlighted the university’s impressive developmental journey.

Subsequently, Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir expressed his joy in Halabja, recognizing it as a symbol of national identity. He commended the collaborative efforts of students’ families and teachers, emphasizing the ministry’s commitment to ensuring that financial constraints would not hinder students’ education. Dr. Qadir assured continued support and pledged to prioritize UoH needs.

The ceremony continued with students taking the oath, followed by the awarding of certificates to the 1364 graduates. Outstanding achievements were duly acknowledged with awards presented to the top-performing students across various departments and colleges at UoH.
